the best i got to fly was a G280 and a TA10, now
i'm relegated to vfr on a rented 150 with carb heat,
an NDB DF radio, and ten year old sectionals!

And thank you for yours! :thumbsup: You made out pretty good on the Sea Duty. Some of those sailors out of the VP squadrons were doing sea duty every three years.

I have to say, flying into arresting gear on a pitching deck would be bad enough. Having to sit there and watch the driver do it would be torture.

I was in Bremerton from 91-99 onboard the Carl Vinson/Camden/California

I was on Camden for her final year before decommissioning. Sad thing to do. Decommissioning a perfectly good ship.

Camden made two trips through the Panama Canal. Both times east to west. First time just after she was built to go to her first homeport, and the second, on her final cruise.

She could still do the same 33 knots as when she was built.

While stationed in Corpus Christi at NRMC, a group of us were asked ro fly out to the Lexington. I have my honorary tailhooker certificate.
I was scared to death, both landing and leaving.
