Charles- I'm working on a GX270 big bore that's 313cc with long rod and short piston combo. 40mm intake and 33mm exhaust. Maybe go bigger on the head later. Might be able to squeeze 1.650" intake and 1.4" exhaust. Haven't gone that far yet.

Yeah with a big block you can go really big, but I want to stick with a small block.

also, ive compared the 6.5 or 7 hp version of them ( http://www.loncinengine.com/Product116/Detailed259/#Text )
to the regular g200 clone ( http://www.loncinengine.com/Product33/Detailed52/#Text )

and noticed the old style has a little more stock compression 8.5:1 vs 8.3:1, and the fuel tanks on the old style are a little larger.

The 8hp version is called a "low carbon" engine. The older style is not. is there a performance difference? I guess we'll see.

What about those 8-9hp lifan engines from the Home Depot they run around that price and some come with electric start, if that matters, there clones of the gx270 and gx290

ill buy it once they start making performance parts for it but for now ill stick with my 212cc I got over 600 in my motor next project is a gx390 im saving up for it right now plan on selling my 212cc one bad motor tho all stainless an billet its strong and has a wiesco piston it isn't going to let me down anytime soon the gx390 carbs on these 212cc are killer in the torque an top end I swear that gx carb on my predator pulls me back in my seat it really amazed me how good it does with the long intake

I put a GX390 on my 212. I had it laying around. When I switched heads to a 14cc head, the intake port was for a 340/390 so I had to fit the 390 to mine. Let me tell you about the unexpected wheelie. Funny the ways you learn respect
