A couple of days ago, I was painting a frame and using this gun stand and thinking how indisposable it has been, and realized I hadn't heard from my friend Butch who made this for me four years ago.
Butch was a paraplegic from a trucking accident 40 years ago, and has been chair bound since. It never slowed him down. Sure, he had the neat van with the lift and the controls, but he also lived alone, in his own home, and had a garage filled with wood working equipment. In his chair, he had full use of all of this machines, made cabinets, and pretty much didn't let his challenges in life slow him down.
I found out last night he had succumbed to the evils of cancer earlier in the month. A real shock, and a fine example of how we should be living through adversity, and enjoying every second given to us.
Rest in Peace Butch, this paint gun stand was the best two six packs of Pepsi I've ever spent.
