Parts for Murray Track 2.

#1
Picked up a Murray track 2 off Craigslist for $100 and it runs but has a busted throttle cable and kill switch. I cannot find parts for this thing. I'm in need of the twist throttle handle, new pegs, neck bearings and I wanna ditch the 72th #41 chain sprocket and run a #35 on a 60-66th rear. Can someone point me in the right direction. I've got a hemi predator I'm gonna put on it and change the header and intake to fit (that stuff I can easily locate) but the other stuff listed I new some direction. Thanks.

Throttle I used:
Amazon.com: New Throttle Grip w/ Cable for Atv/atc/bike Dirt Bike Twist Throttle 50inch: Patio, Lawn & Garden

Killswitch (It's not the greatest): 7 8 Handlebar Motorcycle ATV Accident Hazard Light Headlight on Off Kill Switch | eBay

Neck bearings are the same as a bicycle. Go to your local bike shop and you can find them. Throttle cable is the same way. You can get it by the foot at bicycle shops.

The #41 sprockets on OldMiniBikes Warehouse fit the Murray. Steel Sprocket - 60 Tooth / #41 Chain

Pegs are going to be a different story. I've seen people use L-channel and generic pegs.

I have a 54 tooth sprocket that you can have for a song, but it will gear you really high!

For footpegs I use the ones made for Harleys that have the square piece that bolts on the peg goes on top. I don't think I have any left, but I will check tonight...and at least post a link to the ones on eBay that will work

Do you know what size the hub and bolt pattern is by any chance? I'm gonna go with a #35 chain since I have the max torque clutch already and probably gonna go with the 66th just for the gearing but it's probably not much more than the 60t #35

So I'm stuck here looking and searching for front wheel bearing. These bearings are pretty much a one off size that only Murray was producing. They measure 1.417 or 36mm OD, have a 5/8" or .625 ID and are .433 or 11mm thick. Every place and store on line I've found only have them in 35mm or 1.375 but everything else matched up. My only 2 options unless I can get some assistance from some of yall, is too machine the old outer race down to 1mm thick and use it as a sleeve or find a new front wheel with standard style 1.375 6202Z bearings.

This Murray might be up for sale when I finish redoing it. It's been a little headache trying to find some of these odds and ends haha

Don't overthink this! ...and get some new calipers!
EVERY minibike manufacturer used parts sourced from somewhere other than their own factory...they typically built frames and outsourced the other parts. NO minibike company made their own bearings! Some did other parts like wheels, but for the most part they made frames. Murray did not source a bearing with a metric od and 5/8 id! Your hubs may be hammered a bit which is why it may be a bit bigger. Don't worry about it...unless of course you are going for some sort of speed record...but then again, if you were, you would have a Murray!
I have built two Murray's. I know that doesn't make me an expert, but I do have some practical knowledge.

Lol my measurements were from my work calipers that are calibrated every year. I'm in quality control in the medical prosthetic implants for foot and ankle with extreme tolerances. These pics are from my reloading calipers at my house.. I just wanted to post them up so everyone can see the difference. The original bearing came out busted up so I only saved the inner and outer.

This is the 1.375 bearing or 35mm. It's listed both ways.

Machined line where the bearing originally was.

My apologies! never see nuttin' like that before!
I even did a search for bearing with a 36mm od and came up short! Time to shim it up with a beer can! Good luck!

I'm gonna try that or possible welding a bead where it's machined in the hub and then chalk up the wheel on the lathe and take it down to fit the 1.375 bearing. Whatever I do, I have to do the other side and possibly the rear bearings to keep it all standard and get rid of that odd ball weird stuff.

Finally got it. Found a strip of aluminum that measures .0165 thick and cut a strip .400" wide and the just about the full length around the 1.375" bearing. She went in with a little push and now I can get this project moving along better lol.

They are nonexistent unless you work at a machine shop that builds bearings lol. I was literally mind blown when I searched the Internet, called specialty bearing supply shops and talked to some of the tool and die machinist at work. All you need is the standard 1.375" OD bearing and a strip of .016-.018 sheet metal or aluminum to shim it in. Or go the extra steps to add material to the hub and machine it down to 1.378

I'm going to pop in on this thread since I just popped my bearings out over the weekend. They were marked HW-13B and measured out at 1.375. The bike looks to be all bone stock including the worn out bearings. So...not sure what commonrail had going on, but that's my experience.
