Picked up A Heald VT-8 Today ....

#1
Got this for my 32 year old daughter ... the sellers father bought it new, it sat in a barn for 20 plus years ... the seller rode it as a kid and inherited it 2 years ago when his father passed away.

I will get the correct back tire on it, clean it up, go through the mechanicals but keep it as original as possible.

I like stories too!!

Turns out the Father bought 2 Healds ... this one and a "smaller" one ... The sellers brother got the smaller one and has taken it apart, painted it and now it sits in pieces.
The seller said he was just too lazy to do anything with this one.
THANK YOU!
I told him for me the value was in its originality.

Just got back from a 5 mile or so ride around the neighborhood with Six and his wife, they rode the Hiltoppers and I was elected to pilot the VT-8, it runs out nice with plenty of power, we rode mostly paved streets with some trails thrown in for good measure, it was right at home on either, had fun!........................Tom.

I've been cleaning, repairing and replacing all week what was needed to make it safe and fun again. Today Tom and I did the assembly work.
We have to sort out the throttle linkage. Good thing it was against the house when we first started it .. sorry about the lawn honey!
The seat needs a little work, hooking up the lights, brake light too and a kill button and were done. Should be ready for my daughter next Sunday.
