retainer clip on torque converter

#1
So I've tried to google and such before asking. But i'm still a newb around engines but trying to learn. My boy ordered his 1st torque converter (cheap knock off 90.00 on e-bay) instructions say tav2-30. My question is on the shaft that goes thru the plate and bearings and sleave. ON the back side of the shaft is a retainer clip to keep from going all the way thru the bearings. Is this retainer clip strong enough when snugging up the pulley that it won't bend and shaft comes all the way thru. schematics show nothing but the clip on the backside up against the bearing.

hope this all makes sense and thank you

yes, it works, that clip has worried many of us...... it should be a nylon insert lock nut, dont torque it up, just turn it up snug and thats good. if its sloppy put some locktite on it too.
