I received this HS40 from a friend. Its hard to start, surges, sound like its about to die then surges again. Cleaned the carb put it back on and it still runs the same. When I put it on full throttle it runs for about 6 seconds then dies.
After all that testing I decided to go to the parts list and just buy another one. While I was searching for the part I noticed that the carb is completely wrong for the engine. The carb should be part 631918.
Sooooooooo my question is, Can the carb thats on the motor work correctly with a little tinkering or should I just buy the correct carb?
The carb thats on it doesnt have any adjustable screws at the bottom and it has one one the side that I played with to get it to run half way decent.
