Those engines were very common on old tampers. I would try some local equipment rental stores, they might have parts or engines around. Big construction companies sometimes keep a bunch of old rammers around for parts too. Tell them it's for your kid, that way they'll be more inclined to help you. Everybody wants the kids to be happy.
