HI . IVE SEEN A LOT OF TALENTED RESTORATIONS BY MEMBERS ON THIS FORUM. KUDOS ! I HAVE A RUPP SCRAMBLER THAT I WOULD LIKE TO RESTORE . MY QUESTION IS , DO MOST OF YOU GUYS GET THE CHROME REDONE ? THANKS BILL

I would say it depends how much you want to spend. Some of that old chrome cleans up pretty well with some evaporust and wax.

I agree with Manchester1, evaporust and wax will make the chrome look as good as it can get. If the base metal is rust pitted and you want it to look new it must be rechromed and that gets into mega bucks but the results are fantastic! There are now spray chrome finishes available that look like chrome, good for a show bike but the durability in use is questionable.

I just powder coated chrome and it’s very livable

Depends on the bike and the budget. If you have never had rechroming done before be prepared for significant "sticker shock"! $$$$
