Sourcing a motor

#22
Hi guys. Not sure when this went from me asking for advice on what type of equipment was most likely to yield the right shaft length, to my not being able to find a motor.
Don't take posts on here personally. It is the natural ebb and flow of this site. I don't think anyone had the idea that in SoCal you could not find an engine. Speaking of which, the ban is on the purchase or sales of new equipment under 25 HP. Contractors may continue using their gas powered equipment.

I'm probably wrong, but I generally assumed someone looking for a used engine was not planning to rebuild it immediately.
I should have explained my comment better. I did say I was making a DH comment by the way. :) Sometimes statements are made on the internet, and a few folks will repost and repeat that opinion, until that opinion becomes fact. I challenge those "facts" because I believe a healthy hobby needs to hear the minority opinions too. I did not intend to disrespect anyone.

That is a good point. No offense taken.
I didn't state my experience very well. Snow machines work in a pretty dust free environment. Tillers make dust and grit for a living. If a person is considering a tiller engine they would be wise to look at the air filter and check compression.
