I need To buy a T.C for my DoodleBug and predator.
I was obviously going to buy the whole kit that come with the comet style aluminum back plate, but was curious of opnions about the cheaper steel stamped rectangle backplate.

Any comparison of the two?
Or opinions?

Good to hear.
Well, then maybe I should just buy the one on BMI.
I have a 20 series driver, a 20 series 7" driven, bearings, and JS sprocket.
All I would need is JS axle and belt.
Maybe a 6 inch driven if the 7 inch doesn't fit.
Thanks.

you will have to measure center to center from the crank to the driven shaft and see if there is a belt that fits the 20 series with 6 or 7" driven... The steel back plates need to be reinforced so it doesn't twist especially with a modified engine..

Engine is just exhaust and intake modified.
Pretty sure now that I think of a 7" probably won't fit.

But I also almost don't want the worry of possible twisting.

I can go either backplate depending on everyone's opinion.

the nice thing about the steel ones is that you can easily repair it but they do seem to have more problems than the aluminum ones with bending and the bearing mount coming loose from the plate. on a doodle bug either one should be fine. I think its more on heavier things like gokarts where things break. and they bend when the chain is pulling down or forward like on some gokarts.
