Tachometer

I need one for my Flathead and would like to use a Jr. Dragster one from Jegs but they use a 12v external power source, anyone know how I could rig up a battery to use one? Also, does this kind of tach sense the RPM by using a washer-probe that replaces the spark plug washer? Any help is appreciated.:thumbsup:

Red wire on battery green goes to coil or kill switch wire black goes to ground.

Okay guys im gonna lose it if I can't find a flippin' Tach for my Briggs, and I dont want to use that Tiny-Tac piece of :censure: because it only updates every 2.5 seconds. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SWEEPER TYPE DIGITAL OR ANALOG TACH THAT CAN WORK ON A FLATHEAD?!?!?!:shrug:

Good point, I don't think there are any defining marks between new and old they all the look the same. The only way to make sure is to by directly from the manufacturer Tiny-Tach: Gasoline Tachometers

Ive had a gpt tach for about 8 years now. It s alittle more than the tiny tach but it can record peak rpm and you can set a redline that will give you an idiot light on the display. Its an inductive setup and can read off your kill switch wire. Im not 100% sure but I dont think you can change out the battery on the tiny tach if it goes dead.
