I have to agree that you guys have some awesome taste in music .I was a card carrying union sax player when I was in grade 8 at school ,I played in a big band at the time and whenever acts would come through town needing a player ,I would get the call and often tagged along for a few more dates .Because of this ,I played with dozens of acts ,some great ,some were just arseholes ,but it was a ton of fun for me .I have played with Bruce Cockburn ,Burton Cummings ,Randy Bachman ,Shania Twain (she lived here played several times with her ) ,Bobby Vinton ,The Stampeders ,Corey Hart ,and many many more ,but I really liked playing with Colin James the best because he was about my age at the time ( kids) and I stuck with him for 10 shows one summer .Anyways ,in the late 80’s ,I was in Montreal to see Colin who was playing with Stevie Ray Vaughn at the time .I met up with them and we jammed for several hours together .That guy can play ,yet he was very soft spoken .
I was offered two full ride scholarships for music ,including Berkeley in the states ,but my dad said I couldn’t go because music wasn’t a real job ( funny because I made $1500.00 for a 4 hour show very often in the early 80’s) so I did other things with my life and played only a handful of shows in the last 30 years .I have been missing playing and started practising again this winter ,hoping it will lead me on a few new adventures .
You got to play with Randy Bachman? Wow! When I was 11 or 12 BTO was the band that turned me on to heavy rock and I have been a metal head ever since. Here's one of my favorites by them...

Yes ,Randy and dozens more ,he might of made some wonderful music ,but seemed a little down and out by the time I played with him .Bob Segar was awesome ,couldn’t figure out why I didn’t want to go with him to Toronto the next night ,but I had exams l.o.l. .
When I was in grade 9 ,our teachers went on strike for several months ,so I found a union job in Florida working at the Epcot centre as a musician in the Canada pavilion ,had to use my older brothers I.D. ,but 6 months contract at $365.00 a week u.s. ,in 1980 was pretty good cash for a 15 year old kid from northern Ontario .
Stevie Ray ,was just mind blowing ,and even the weirdo Bruce Cockburn is a very talented guy ,his drummer was a local guy so he hung around here more than most .
As for my dad ,he was a boss in one of the mines ,encouraged us to play music and sports ,but didn’t understand the business of either so he wanted us to get a trade ,which worked out fine with me .

Bachman often plays on a fender starcaster guitar ,one of fenders cheapest guitars ,they even sold them at Costco for $150.00 with an amp
, not sure why but he must like it since he has done it since the 70’s .I played a house party in Toronto with him and Cummings about 10 years ago ,and the Trailer Park Boys sang American Woman with us .

Very fortunate to have had the opportunity to play with all those acts. Must have been incredible to jam with Stevie and Colin. Stevie Ray Vaughn had a big influence on Colin James.

I hear that after some work those are very good guitars.

I was naïve when I bought my first guitar. It was a cheap Strat copy. Only sounded OK through the MXR dist+. I quickly got rid of it after getting a pre lawsuit Japanese Les Paul copy. That guitar had a very ballsy tone compared to the Strat copy.

Trower Power!

Robin Trower has been one of my favorite guitarists for decades, but many people are not familiar with him. At age 73, he is still touring and recording.

Awesome guitar! The songs themselves are a bit slow for my taste but I liked Too Much Joy.

How's this? Is it too mainstream?

Never been much of an AC/DC fan, but that is better than much of their original stuff, IMO. There is no understanding peoples' taste in music. I have a good friend I share many interests with, but when it comes to music, what I like, he thinks it sucks, and vice versa, although there are some exceptions that we both like.

Use the second icon from the right (looks like film) to embed a video.

Take a look at 'Bucket Head' or 'Justin Johnson' at Youtube.

Really like Justin on the skateboard :eek:hmy:

O.J.
I listened to so much Buckethead a few years ago that I developed Buckethead Burnout; it all started sounding the same to me (it doesn't, that's just the effect that listening to too much had on me). With over 300 albums, there's plenty of Buckethead to listen to. As far as technical skill, I doubt there is anyone better.
