Threaded Axle Rod

Hey Guys! I'm starting to build a homemade mini bike. And i'm having trouble locating a rear axle (Since i live in Argentina and things are not as easy to find as in America). What i've found is a threaded rod that fits the wheel. It's 1 inch diameter, so pretty big. But it's threaded... do you guys think it'll do the job? I've seen other guys use these and y never saw any complaint. But i'm sure you guys know better.

1" ? Does the wheel have bearings? Might be easier to replace the bearings with a more standard size like 5/8 or 3/4.

If you can find 1" stock and your bearings fit, I'd say go for it. I'm sure it'll work fine.

The wheel has 2 bearings. Things are expensive here, so i'm trying to keep things minimal.

Why not take a 1" solid rod and thread the ends?

or just pin the ends. if the axle is not adjustable theres no reason it needs to be threaded

The axle on my Bearkat bike was drilled and tapped on the ends. It's held in place with bolts in the ends.

Thanks guys! I wish i could get ahold of an solid rod and thread the ends but i cannot find one. I'll guess i'll go with the threaded one and see what happens.

The wheel i'll get is this one. About 30cm diameter.

You guys think i can buy 4 larger bolts to get to the sprocket? Should i use spacers?

I've got another question...
How do you guys build the front end headset?
Do you use bearings? It looks on many frames as it would be just a bolt through a tube.
