ok i cant see where your shifter ends up real well in the pics, but it looks like you should be able to come around behind your valve cover and out under the carb like you want. whenever i have exhaust bends to do, i find pre-bent pieces of pipe and cut and weld them into place. remember if you need a tighter bend, just cut the inside of the bend almost all the way thru, pull the gap closed and weld.
if you are into quieter (or at least not straight piped) looks like you have plenty of room to put a 5hp briggs muffler on the end (the one that looks and acts like a little glasspack) just drill a hole in the baffle in the middle for a little more flow.
