Took Governer off my 5.5, rode today for aprox 3 hrs

It felt like I lost top end speed a little bit.

I had more torque.

There is a hill I climbed with governor on and I had to stop and walk the bike up.

Today with governor off, the same hill, I sat on the bike and took my feet to give it a boost but made it without getting off the bike.

I thought I would see a bigger diference with governor off but nothing worth bragging about.

you don't gain any horsepower by removing the governor. all it does is allow the engine to rev higher which gives you more top speed.

with the governor you'll max out at about 3600rpm and without it around 5000-5500rpm. did you remove all the internal parts as well? it would be a very good idea to pick up a billet rod now.

This weekend i removed the governor and did remove all the internal parts. But, I still do not see why it is so important that they get taken out - what is the reason?????
