Trail Flite Motor Angle

#1
I was wondering what the reasoning was having the motor mounted at what I believe is a 20 degree angle on my SS 400 and a few other brands I've seen. Also why did they transfer the power from the left side to the right side rear wheel sprocket? Seems like a lot more could go wrong with two chains.

The engine was tipped so the driven torque convertor unit wasn't so close to the ground. The jackshaft is used to multiply torque. Large pulley turning small gear, @ low speed.
