Trickin a Tec for Torque

Latest recycling find. 139cc HSK845 ringy-dingy, for $6 including the A/V cart and some 1/2 coarse bolts for my van seat.
I'm going to add a reed cage, some timing & compression, and trim the intake skirt for better filling, then see if it improves the curve.

I've cut the reed cage area out of trashed sled jugs before, to use on non-reed bigger engines, but never a lil fella.

If I can't fab some thing, I may just use:

Where would someone find a reed assembly like that?

Of course, you'd want to add additional port timing, unless low end is all you're after.
Holes, arched skirt, straight cut shortening the skirt, all work.
The higher up holes help lube the wristpin bearing and cool the underside of the piston.
And, if "4 corner holes" are done, it really reduces chances of seizing. Note used top piston.

Well a little bit different then that. I have a Kohler 340ax and a ccw 290 both non-reed snowmobile engines. I've seen carb-reverb on both at times and needs would correct this.

Aaaah, bigger pickle to fry. I have a 440-2AS myself, and have been looking at options.
I've liberated the cages, boots, and reed area of a bunch of old Yamaha sled jugs. They're not too bad to mod.
Husky offroad bikes from the 70s-80s had a bolt-on affair that can be eBay'ed, cheap.
