Valve Seals

#1
Hey guys I have a 3rd gen predator 212 non Hemi head with the 27/25 valves and the smaller 5mm valve stems. I bought the stainless steel valve kit with the 5.5mm valve stems and I am going to have my machine shop ream out the guides to fit the larger valves now my question is should I run valves guide seals. I’ve heard mixed opinions some do some don’t some only run one on the intake. What gives?

Earlier Honda GXs didn't have them at all. I think they may have been added later for emissions purposes. It could have even been for service or warranty claims purposes. If a harmless puff of blue smoke on startup is causing lots of end users to make service requests, then it can be cheaper to install a 5¢ valve seal on every engine to avoid that.

I'd run one on the intake just to help prevent oil consumption.
