Vintage Class MSPTEX Taco 22

#61
Well the bike is purple once again for the first time in who knows how long. My buddy Danny said he got a few runs in the clearcoat that need sanded out and fixed. Unfortunately he is getting his wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow and won't finish until next week. Nonetheless frame is looking great and I can't wait to see it bolted together!
dayum, that looks purdy.

Super happy with how the paint turned out. Thanks to Havasu Dave for the color code. I might have to do my matching 66 taco 44 in the same color for the build off next year. I'm going to try to get bike assembled this weekend. I decided to order the water decals for the Briggs since more then one member have suggested them. I will save the stickers I ordered from the taco website for another project. Can't wait to start putting this thing together! 20180227_105146.jpg 20180227_120420.jpg 20180227_120409.jpg 20180227_120400.jpg 20180227_120341.jpg 20180227_120337.jpg 20180227_120325.jpg 20180227_120319.jpg 20180227_120311.jpg 20180227_120304.jpg 20180227_120755.jpg 20180227_105146.jpg 20180227_120420.jpg 20180227_120409.jpg 20180227_120400.jpg 20180227_120341.jpg 20180227_120337.jpg 20180227_120325.jpg 20180227_120319.jpg 20180227_120311.jpg 20180227_120304.jpg 20180227_120755.jpg

I have got alot done since my last post. Still can't get over how good this color looks. I ended up using a regular nut with lock washer for bolting together the frame instead of the more modern nylon lock nut. Gives it more of that old school look if you ask me and bike will mainly be for show.

Next installed everything on the frame and fork as well as installed the double headed Indian Carlisle's on the Taco wheels. Super happy with how the wheels and tires turned out together. Hard to believe the tires are 45+ years old.

Also received my water transfer decals for the Briggs from Mini Bike Paul on eBay. Decals went on very easy and he even sends an extra practice decal so you can get the hang of applying them. Thanks to the numerous people who suggested them to me on here and social media. They really look good installed and look just like the originals.

All I was really waiting for after I got the bike back from paint was my wheel spacers to get back from being powdercoated. Last night while at work my buddy let me know they where done and I grabbed them from him after I got off work. I was super anxious to see this thing sitting on 2 wheels so I rushed home and made it a roller.

Of course after that I had to mock up the motor and snap a few pics haha At this point I can see the end in sight. This weekend I am hoping to finish up the few things that need done and maybe even ride it! Super happy with how the bike is turning out and can't wait to see it all finished!

Thanks to my friend and member sonerenos for grabbing me a stand when he went to Taco a couple weeks back. Just need to get it powdercoated and some stickers added.

Just a few more parts left to install and I should have a complete running and riding bike! Hopefully get time to finish it up this weekend.

Well here she be. Man does it look good. Was too cold to get it outside for a test ride. But when it warms up I will get better pictures and a video of it runnin/riding! Besides the modern throttle set up I feel it is very close to how it would of been from Taco in the 60's.

Time to start on my other build off bike and will get better pictures of the Taco soon in the sunlight.
