Thats a long trip if you have just one destination, for one weekend. However it really is worth it.
Virginia is a good resting point. The Smithsonian museums are close. Air and space, udvar-hazy near dulles airport, Washington monuents, etc etc.

Lucky for me I've got family east of Atlanta.... Kinda gives me a built in stopping point and a safe place to put a trailer full of mini's overnight too. Heck it takes me better than half a day just to get to the top of Florida. :angry:
