I've had good results just putting liquid floor wax over chrome spray paint after the paint has cured for a couple weeks. It doesn't dull the paint finish. There's also a Meguire's spray wax finish that works too, the name escapes me right now.

I tried chrome spray paint with no luck either. What I found out is that krylon makes a pretty awesome metallic spray paint that Iíve used with great success and clear coating with 2k clear worked out great. I used the 2k clear that cures in a couple of hours instead of 24hrs.

So all intek/animal/206 Briggs engines have the “studs” in the block for an alternator and starter. Whether they are drilled and tapped for it depends on the model. (From what I can tell, the animal blocks are all drilled and tapped). On my version of the Intek, all 4 holes were drilled. And only the top 2 were tapped.

I tapped the bottom “studs”. They use #8-36. And ordered 2 more bolts from Briggs to attached new alternator that should push out 5 amps DC with my flywheel. Below was the previous alternator...

    Here is the new alternator...

This new set up, if it works should be enough to run lights and have enough extra to top off the battery for the 12v starter that also on the way, and not sure if it will fit/work yet.

Also set up the red neck paint booth. Despite all the negative experiences with chrome spray paint, we are gonna try it. 29051AD4-DE69-4B92-B84D-7789233B6D65.jpeg

So the chrome spray paint is awesome. Until you try to clear coat it, then it just turns into gray. You guys were right.
Anyways, got the frame painted with hammered black and clear coated. Not meant to be permanent, just to stop the rust from having free reign until power coating.
