    many older tractors had unregulated single wave output, especially briggs singles, one diode, big fat one maybe on the line of a 3amp 1n5400 or 6R050

    Yes, I had posted the part numbers of several Tecumseh (big block) systems as well as the manual I got them from. The only reason I brought it up, was because I didn't know what the voltage output was on a Lifan, and that an incandescent lamp system will act as a VR, while an LED system will not.

    We all know that the term "single wire" does not mean 3 amp, 10 VAC @ 3600 RPM, half-wave, pulsating DC battery charger, when referring to a GM "single wire" alternator. (grin)
    Just a garage hack sitting on a plastic bucket armed with an angle grinder.

    I have a few of those GY6 regulators, new condition.....if you want one pay the postage and its yours

    ebay has little DC-DC buck boost modules, input is 4 to 38 volts and output is adjustable. input, youd need DC, just rig up a simple rectifier with some diodes, I wonder how they would work on a minibike......
