Big Block Tecumseh 6hp Monster (Craftsman)

#1
This is a beast from Hell! Not for the squemish. Please go back to the forum while you can.

Pulled this off an overpowered retro lil mini bike back in the 90's.
Powers up, but needs a carb and the usual goin over.
Compression will kick you back into the last Windber ride......Twice.
Starts and runs like a Grumpy Jenkins/Sox & Martin Pro Stock
Was told it is 6hp, (143-576122 Ser. 6287 04807) But ???

Look it over, see if it meets your demands for insanity. $80.00
Does not come with the braided fuel line, (my test buddy).

I will meet you half way on shipping. 16X16X16 @ 40 Lbs from Zip 32907

If this thing dosen't hurt ya pulling the starter, it will on your first time out.

Nice piece of Big Block iron. Good deal as well.
Compression could really be a damaged flywheel Key. I have a HS40 on my Cat R4003 that would rip the pull rope handle right out of your hand and acted like super compression, turned out it was the key partly sheared.
Thing ran good once running until finally it wouldn't start.
The aluminum flywheel keys shear easy, the old steel ones last forever.

Then again it could be a built up engine.

I have a Big Craftsman like that with an electric starter (Snowblower engine?) and it has a 1" shaft. That thing has good compression, but not crazy compression.
Later,
Keith

Pretty much the same kick as they were 45 years ago. I'm just not a tough guy teenager anymore.
Heathkit in NYC had a sale on their 5hp Boonie Bike engines in 1970, ($39.95). I picked up one.
Put me in front of the pack all the time, but, boy, do I remember that kick.

So it is an H60 in H50's clothing! Crank appears to be a little on the turned side, but accepts the 3/4 clutch.
I've added a custom exhaust to this madness, I got eyes on this beast so let me know soon, Same price with the Exhaust!

Down to $60 and I will pay half the UPS shipping, (16X16X16 40 pounds from 32907).
I may be going to the Billetproof drags in Lakeland Florida this sunday if that helps for delivery.
