Cylinder honeing

So i got this briggs and its pretty messed up inside so i think im gunna hone it so first question is do on need a joneing drill bit or can i use sand paper? Also when im done how do i know what oversized rings yo get??

honing doesnt require bigger rings, boring does...you probably dont need to bore it unless the walls are reaalllyy bad..:thumbsup:

It's best to use a honing tool that's a proper fit for the cylinder. As mentioned above, unless the cylinder is really bad you should be able to hone it and just install a new set of stock bore rings. Also clean up+ re-seat your valves while your at it.

If the cylinder is bad, your prob going to have to send it out and have it bored .
