Did I put too much oil in my Tec?

I've been working on this H35 for a little while and got it started today. Woohoo! :freakout: BUT...oil started dripping out of the breather. hmy: I had read that it should take 21 ounces but it seemed to overflow a bit before I got all 21 ounces into it. Is it coming out the breather because I over filled it...or something' else? :shrug:

From what I know Scotty, fill to the bottom threads.

But, that might be why I am tearing up Tecs.:laugh::facepalm:

That may be a 19oz. engine. I usually just fill to the bottom of the threads like Buckeye said.:thumbsup:

If it's blowing out the breather then you got to much . 21 oz seems like a lot of oil .

That or run it till it stops dripping.

I was checking my Tecumseh manual and it doesn't even say other than one mention of filling to the threads or to the full mark on the dipstick.

My roommate in college had a girlfriend that drove an early 90's Sunfire convertible. She thought she'd add some oil to it, and she put in a lot! I can't remember how much, but let's just say that the neighborhood didn't need to fog for mosquitos that summer. When she took it in to the shop, the mechanic just chuckled.
