how do people run dual carbs, is the intake custom built or can you buy it somewhere ?

Mostly seen them on west bend engines with tillotson carbs

The West Bend and lots others were 2-stroke motors. Therefore it was possible to add carbs onto the crankcase using a 'reed plate' as a one-way valve. Totally worthless idea if the engine is a 4-stroke and there is only one intake valve per cylinder.

That's only the beginning. Don't forget about the middle and end. There are different duel intakes, just depends on the make.

Totally worthless idea if the engine is a 4-stroke and there is only one intake valve per cylinder.

Two Teke 3hp carbs should work well on a 5hp Briggs,
and give the mini a nice look.
