This motor is designed for much worse abuse. The prop is fine. There is a skeg on the unit that act as a rudder and prop guard. I've run into rocks much worse than that.

The prop is the cheapest and weakest part of the unit. It's designed that way so that the prop will fail first and not damage anything else on the motor. The props cost $14 each. I have three props on the boat. It easy to change while on the river. The whole motor is designed for survivability.

That's pretty wild. May have to look into that. I own a bunch of land up in PA, the local river is called the Stoneycreek, and it lives up to it's name. Least where I'm at, I've never seen an outboard powered boat come up stream or down. But boy do the Kayak folks love it.
