Flywheel stuck

Hi need help took off my flywheel cover on my 3HP Briggs and now when I put it back on I can pull it's once then it's gets stuck ? what am I doing wrong ?

What exactly did you take apart the flywheel assembly or just the pull shroud if toubtook off the pull shroud only an its the square starter cup style gotta play with the shroud sometimes to get it to pull rightbthen tighten down

yes sorry only the pull shroud , I tried like 20 times now can't get it , what a pain ,,

Hey Yellownuts, sometimes on old motors the flywheel gets rusted up, and will bind up on the coil armatures/pickups. Check the clearance of the coil pickups to the flywheel. you might just need to sand the rust off the flywheel and readjust. Or it could be just a shroud/starter clutch issue?:thumbsup:

Also make sure the flywheel magnet is in the 12 o-clock position under the coil, sometimes the shroud will stick to the magnet and cause misalignment issues....................Tom.
