Foam Air cleaner

Can anyone tell me where to get a new filter/foam for an air cleaner like this one?

If memory serves me (going back 40+ years to my dad's lawnmower:smile aren't those the type that you saturate with motor oil for them to work properly?

Any lawn mower repair shop, Lowes, Home Depot. They are very common.

Put oil on the air cleaner, then wringout the excess. No need to saturate

Yeah, there's a label on the can it was in that said to clean oil it periodically. For some reason, motor oil was the last kind of oil I thought of. :laugh:

I'll try and see if there is any life left in this one...it's only a little crunchy. I'll check the hardware stores and mower shops in the meantime and see if I can find a nice spongey one. Thanks Fellas! :thumbsup:

just got one for my 3hp briggs. Went into Ace hardware store and it was 7 bucks.

I have the same one ! If its just a "crusty" soak it in motor oil and squeeze it out , clean the box and throw it back on !

Thanks Fellas, I picked one up today at OSH. My old one was brittle and starting to deteriorate. Thanks for the tip on giving the new one a little drink before I put it in. :thumbsup:

Yeah ! No prob ! Any air filter needs oil on it so the particles stick to the filter and not go through !:thumbsup:
