Gas cap clearance problem...

I used this one from Nappa auto parts for my yellow clone motor. There were some other guys that were having the same problem so thought this might help...

Yeah, I took the tank in and the clerk took it to the back and brought back one that fit.Didn't come in a box and no part #. Thus the pic's. I believe its from an older CJ series jeep 1976- 1985 or so.I apologize for the lack of info didn't realize anyone else had the same problem till after I purchased it.

the tanks on the new CA 6.5 is different than the 49 state one. the cap sits up higher and won't fit in the DB frame.

in regards to the to the Ca. motor SKU# 66014 the lip on the gas tank can be hacked off with an angle grinder, HF basically welded an extra 2 inches on to the 66015 "L" shaped tank, anyone can modify their tank so long as they don't cut too much, they will just need to purchase the 66015 gas cap, and like magic it will fit into the DB30 frame. when i get a chance i will post some pics. just thought this would be useful info.
