Yes you can change the crank in it pretty easily.. It has a standard bushing crank, but the side cover has the 4 mounting holes.. That particular oil seal is a weird one. Being your engine has that gear box, there is no crank seal in the side cover..

You should be able to get one at like napa or one of the better car parts places.. The ones that come from briggs are a standard bushing oil seal for the plain cover, then there is a steel ring that it presses into, as a bushing, so the O.D. of the seal fits the hole in the side cover

:facepalm: And they can be kind of a pain in the butt to work with at times.. :laugh:

But theres other better ones available.. Just a one piece pop it in there and you're good to go..

I have another engine that needs a gas tank. I hate to part this out, but at this point $99.00 greenbacks for HF motor sounds better. thats like cheeting. I may just steel tank and carb and be done with it.
