GX flywheel on a GC?

Hey guys, I have spent hours searching only to end up here with this question.

I want to run a flywheel with lighting coils from an old GX160 on my GC190. As far as I can tell everything looks the same. The only thing I have not been able to check is the taper on the crank and the timing.

The keyway looks like it is in the right spot though.

Any help is appreciated.

they can work but you need to change to a GX coil.

Are the flywheels a different size or is it an electrical thing? Just curious.

Can anyone tell me if the coil needs to be changed due to fitment or electrical resons?

Good question I have a gc flywheel I was thinking about running on my gx it fits no difference in size I just wonder what rpm
= boom!

The GX series has been around for almost 30 years.

The GC has 15 years ( give or take ) under its belt.

In all that time how many engines have been raced with the mixing and matching of flywheels?

None from experienced builders.
