HM 100 magneto problems no spark

My brother wired the lights and made up battery cables and fixed a broken wire going to the alternator . When we put power to it saw a little smoke from the mag area after that motor will not run has no spark . So pull flywheel to check points they looked fine , had a old condensor that is good made no diff . Could the coils be fired and can parts be found?

Yep. Sounds like you have your circuits crossed. I also noticed from your pics you provided (on a different thread), it looks like you have an 18 watt lighting coil, instead of charging coils.
