Horizontal and vertical magneto interchangeable?

Yeah both 3.5 hp. Found an nos charging/ lighting stator but for a vertical. I shall try it. Thanks sir

As long as they are the same size and the bolts are located in the same place it should be fine. I've seen a few vertical staters and the coil was positioned at about 1 oclock with the bolts at 3 and 9, instead of 12 0clock with the bolts at 3 and 9.

...and you need to really compare flywheels. Some of the mower flywheels are different

chances are slim id say but its worth a try. Tecumseh used so many different setups

Mags from 2-7 HP "except HM70" should interchange. I just bought a V70 from an old Ariens riding mower to use the lighting coil/flywheel on one of my H50-60 engines.

This one has the coil at 12 and bolts at 3 and 9 like you state above. Just gotta dig up the flywheel now. Thanks.
