How to determine V-Belt size?

#1
I have a mini (Heathkit Hilltopper) that has a torque converter for it's drive. My question is,how do you determine what is the correct V-belt size and diameter? How much slack is normal? There is no belt now and the company that made the drive is long gone.
Thank you.

Measure the " center to center distance between crank shaft and jack shaft. Then measure the diameter of your driven pully. Then measure the inside belt surface on outer edge inside of driven to get your belt width. "5/8,3/4,7/8" Should be one. of those measurements. Now is both sheaves angled or does one side apper to be straight? "15 degrees"

Thats all the measurements you will need. I use Go Kart Parts | Go Kart Supply Online Catalog for ordering my belts. They have a nice chart to tell you what you will need.
Also symetrical is "same angle both sides" and asymetrical is. And "angle one side and flat on other side".
