Kill switch wont work

#1
I got my buddy's small Toro snowblower running but i cant get the kill switch to work.
I got another switch that wasnt a direct replacement so i spliced it into the existing lines.
That didnt work either. So i took the ground wire and touched it directly to the wire that runs behind the shroud and it still didnt shut off. Which it should have right?
Does that mean that there is something wrong with the wire going to the magneto?

Any help is great.
Thanks,
Dan

Yes, Coil wire to switch then other switch connection to ground.

I would first make sure you have a good ground source, the coil should be fine if the engine runs right. I've also has switches that are backwards and where it says on is off no matter how it's wired. :eek:ut:
