Lil indian

I bought this lil indian last week and I am curious as to why there is an extra hole in the center of the motor mount. I know it has the original engine in it as it still has an indian dealership decal on it. Any help would be great.

The extra hole means it originally came with a Tecumseh engine.

Why the extra hole, I don't know, but that's what it means.

That's odd as I'm sure this Briggs is original to this bike.

I think the "Indian" decal is just a coincidence. Indian motorcycles and Indian Mini Bikes have no affiliation with the Michrina brothers' Lil Indian mini bikes of Michigan.

Thats probably where they purchased the mini bike when it was brand new

I thought that that was probably where it was purchased, and that the engine was original.either way that is the engine it's getting.

What year is the briggs engine? Give me the serial number if you don't know. I'm sure if they had left over Briggs engines, they installed them in those frames or vica versa.:laugh:

One theory I have seen is that the hole was maybe something to do with the jig/alignment when being assembled, or possibly when they were cutting the plates......sounds good anyway :smile:
