Lookin for help-hard to pull start

#1
So I have a Baja 200 that i installed a Black Mamba Jr cam, 26 lb springs, billet flywheel, cold air intake, header, and 8* timing key into. Now, WHEN I do get it running, it runs fine, but I have a serious time starting it. When I pull the starter it will jerk itself out of my hand seriously hard. If I get pissed and ignore the pain, I can eventually fire it up, but can anyone explain why the starter bites me when I want to start it up???

Might be the 8° key. My flywheel is already running 32° the extra 8 could be a problem.

Or if the key is installed wrong you could be retarding instead of advancing.

Either way id try the stock key and see if that helps

Check your valve lash first, then try running without the 8* key. I had the same problem, and one of my valves rockers had loosened. Reset the lash and was good to go.
