Loss in compression

Shaved the heads and installed different valve springs, turn the motor by hand the first time and could barely spin it it. Then it felt fine. Then it fired right up. Running higher tension valve springs not sure what size stole them off another motor, with 1.3 ratio rocker arms. Did I bend a pushrod? Seems to run okay

Check the valve lash. And there should be a color strip on the springs to tell what they are unless they were stock springs. What cam do you have ? Somtimes hevier springs arnt a good idea. It all has to work together.

I would just buy some new springs to know what you have. they are cheap enough to have piece of mind. did you use feeler gauges to set the lash when you changed the springs. that is a must do kinda thing.

Thanks, And yes I did buy a feelers gauge. But I broke a rocker arm exhaust side figured out that I need a lash cap on the exhaust valve and a new guideplate
