That is going to depend a lot on the cam.

i believe 12.5 is about the highest you want to go. if your cam doesn't have a compression release it will be lower.

I have pull started some really high compression motors. The good thing is the clone/Honda has a really good pull start on the cam. So it allows for easy starts, especially when running on gas. But even alky and 14.1 can start up easy. I have had some snap back problems when the cam base circle has been cut down a whole lot.
