mikuni 26mm roundslide vs. mikuni 24mm flatslide???

#1
They say the flatslides provide cosiderable performance gains vs the roundslides. What is the difference in performance between the 26mm roundslide and the 24mm flatslide? is it worth the extra dough?

You would need to get them flow tested, other than that the carbs work the same. Which ever one flow the most has the most potential of making the most power.

They should be close

Take the flatslide any day over round slide.
The flatside performs much better, very easy to tune in and once set-up right we have never even had to change the jetting.

Roundslides are hopeless, endless hours of trying to tune them in. Even when they are set-up about right, the flatslide is still in a different league. Bit like the tilotsons.

We run TM24's on standard Bore/Stroke Engines, with 29/24mm valves & Tm28's on Bigger engines.

Both work fantastic. Took 20 Minutes to tune each carburetor.
Rememeber to have a return/ overfill pipe though, otherwise you'll over fill the bowl and it wont run right.
