Modding Predator, hard to turn near TDC

#1
I'm making my first mods on a 212 and noticed that it's very hard to turn right now with the side cover off and the cam out. I even hear somewhat of a scratching sounds as the piston reaches TDC and then once it turns over it frees up a bit. Plug has been out but I don't think there is anyway something could have fell in the plug hole. Anyway, something seems off, what do y'all think?

First of all, welcome aboard, secondly, turning it over without the cover on is beating the hell out of the bearing on the flywheel side. Essentially, turning the crank over by hand without the cover, the crank is not running true against the bearing as there is no way to align it (which would also cause your piston/rings to bind a bit & cause the noise).

Ahh, that makes sense. Only reason I turned it was to get the cam back in, then when it was harder to turn than it should have been I heard the noise. I'll get it all back together and double check the issue before trying to turn it over. Thanks!
