MTD Trail Flite jack shaft

Seeing as this new roller ill be picking up doesn't appear to have its jackshaft can i just get a new one in there or do i need to track down the original parts

I don't see why you couldn't make a new one. Just pick up some 5/8" jackshaft, bearings, and some snap rings

Then just some sprokets in between the snap rings? I think this jack shaft is the kind that has both sprockets right next to each other.
