New old guy here.

Wanted to say hello. I have nosed around here every now and then. I'm in my early sixties and still got the love for these little buggers lol. I have a Coleman CU200T coming here Wednesday. I only hope it comes in one piece, ordered it from Amazon. It appears it is hit or miss as to weather it gets junked by the shippers:001_rolleyes:. I live in New Hampshire these days and decided to get one of these as they kind of remind me of the old Tote Goats. Is it true that the Coleman Ct200u have the Honda clone engine with a 5/8 shaft now? I tried to get one at my local Tractor Supply but they now have stopped selling them and have gone to the CU200EX. I did not care for it but it did have front forks with some suspension. Tires look the same so I would think they may swap out with the Ct200u model. Anyone else seen one yet? Any way hello everyone and never to old to have fun!

Hello! I've been coming to the conclusion that the CT200U is being discontinued. Walmart website says "This item is no longer available" ( not "out of stock" ) and, supposedly, Walmart stores have had them clearance priced for as little as $124 over the past few months. No Walmart stores in my area have had any in stock; thought about driving a few hours to pick up a couple at $249 each (best price within a reasonable distance), but haven't. I'm curious about the CU200EX you mentioned; Google came up with nothing on it. Lots of reviewers complain about the condition of their Colemans upon delivery. I recently purchased a CT100U from Walmart and was fortunate as it arrived in very good condition with all parts included. I, too, am in my sixties; seems to be a lot of us geezers on here. Enjoy your Coleman and visit this forum often!

I believe you are correct Charles. That is the reason I decided to get one and paid $531 delivered (hopefully intact lol). The link you provided is the one they now sell at Tractor Supply. It just didn't do it for me like the U model did. I don't think the new model will do near as well as the old model sales wise. It does appear that the forks may be interchangeable on the two. I will do my best to enjoy the bike and thanks for the welcome Greg!

Yes. Late last year they started using the 5/8 output on the crank. They may have made the change because of all the clutch complaints they were getting. Clutches for the 5/8 shaft came equipped with a caged needle bearing. No need to be oiling them all the time. Just pull it apart when you get it and pack it with grease. Do not use too much or it will escape and spread out onto the clutch pack.

Thanks for the advise, will do. On a side note aren't 3/4 clutches more common? Also this would make a torque converter upgrade more difficult as I would need to put a 3/4 crank in the stock motor also?

I think 3/4" clutches are more common, but 5/8" clutches aren't difficult to find. I don't think there are any torque converters made for a 5/8" shaft. A clever member installed a torque converter on a CT100U with 5/8" shaft.

The 3/4 clutches are more common because that size crank output has been a standard for years on engines around this size and type. Another step is added to install a torque convertor. Some have installed adaptors, replaced the crankshaft, and some have even bought new engines to make things easier.

I have an extra engine that I will be installing on my second Coleman to prep it for the torque convertor. Just glad there is no extra cost and the bike is apart anyway to be painted.

So my Coleman CU200T was delivered today. Was not (badly) damaged but was some paint damage to the fenders. Front was worse than rear which was minor. Then I found a few nicks here and there. Called Amazon and got them to give me a partial refund. Don't know how they arrived at the amount but got back $106.39 bringing my total for the bike to $425. I'm happy with that. Took it for a little spin and It climbed the hill I live on no problem. It's a pretty steep hill btw.:scooter:

Good thing it was only paint damage, and that you got a decent refund. I assume that the bikes are packaged to arrive in good condition IF the boxes are kept upright during shipping. I also assume that many shipping company employees pay no attention to that and flip them over or whatever to move them. I got to my front door just in time to see the driver opening the back of his truck, my boxed CT100U sitting in the proper position, and see the driver handle the box as if it were his own; I imagine that is rare. Enjoy your bike!

Very true, Fed Ex is the worst offender. They always have an undersized rented truck and everything is just tossed in there with no regard for the customers items. Makes me want to scream lol. The box was kind of intact but the bottom which is supposed to be like a skid was snapped in two. Fender was buried beneath so hard to see without pulling everything out. I plan to repaint the whole thing camo style anyway so the discount works for me.

Krylon has a nice selection of flat camo colors. I haven't used their camo paint, but have used other Krylon paint with good results.
