I just purchased a 1971 Z50 and before starting any work on it I would like to run the motor. There is no spark and I think there is something wrong with the ignition switch since some of the wires are missing. Before I start replacing point and condenser I would like to know if the spark should be present if for example the ignition switch is unplugged or the connector coming out of the coil pack is unplugged. If all needs to be plugged what wires need to be jumped to confirm spark.
I saw a fainth spark one or twice but now it's gone ?
What about a copy of the wiring diagram... I have one but the quality is so bad that I can read it.
