Pull start. How much compression is too much?

Basically I want to know how much I can increase my compression before pull starting becomes an impossibility...

As long as your ignition timing is correct, and you have the compression release still on your cam you should have no problem with starting it. I have pull started alky, 14.1, 3" bore motors.
