Quick Question About Clone Clutch Installation

#1
Hi Guys,

I bought a Hillard (Masters of Motion) clutch with the bronze sleeve and built in key. When i put it on my HF clone shaft (gear side toward engine), there is about 3/16" space, so with a nut and a washer, the clutch has some play and can move on the shaft. How do you take care of this? If you use 3/4" ID washers, where do you put them, on the engine side or the side with the 5/16-24 retaining bolt? :hammer:

Thanks

Jim Donovan from Max Torque told me that a little gap helps with tracking of the chain, and to use the nut and a washer on the end, but dont entirely pinch the clutch (with no slop) because it rides on the crank to prevent it from binding up, Id put a washer on the outside and put a bolt in the tapped hole on the end of the crank, and let it be able to slide a little bit.
