Snowblower engine build questions.

#1
I am starting my first build using a snowblower engine and have a few questions.
What type of conversion would I need?
Would I need anything to cool the engine for warmer weather?
Has anyone ever done this? If so what kind of results did you get?

Any help is appreciated thanks!

it shouldnt need any extra cooling besides perhaps removing some of the extra shrouding. like the box that covers the carb then you can fit an air filter. that box is to transfer heat to the carb so it doesnt freeze up

Jeep2003 is right on ...nothing special. I live in Ohio and most of my engines were once on a snow blower ( they seem to be cheapest) sometimes a garden tiller. But I do find a fair amount of snow blower spec engines do not have keyed output shafts or tapped. These are VERY helpful when mounting your clutch.

youll probably need to get a air filter for it, and like the other guys say get rid of the extra cover over the carb, all it did was keep ice away from the carb.
some snowblowers have screwy size output shafts, some are right on the money, perfect fit for a minibike clutch, some will need to be turned and keyway cut, no biggie, just another thing to do though.
Is there a reverse shaft? that can be cut off flush with the crankcase.
You might have a lighting coil, those are cool for a headlight.
