You going to need a fan cooled snowmobile engine running it in the warmer weather, free air engines like contentious cold air flow across them or the over heat easily.

Then your going to have to rejet the carb for engine to run in the warmer weather.

vintagesleds.com? Are the mods even active over there? I registered and got an e-mail stating so but that it must be approved, which has not happened. That was a couple of months ago.

Before you can login and start using the forum, your request will be reviewed and approved. When this happens, you will receive another email from this address.

The Exciter is a 440 cc. The phazer is larger 485 cc, and it a taller engine, so you'll need more room to fit into your application. If that is a concern. The 300 cc Enticer is a good engine also, don't what is available for mods. All these engines are fan cooled and twin cylinder.

If you would like a single cylinder fan cooled, the 292cc Yamaha is a very good engine. Find a latter year one (74-?) with the reed valves. Be prepared to spend some good money, highly prized by the single cylinder racers.

Lot's of good hop ups for the exciter and phazer, larger and twin carbs, pipes, port work, clutching, etc. There is alot information for these engines out there.

As you can see I'm a Vintage Yamaha snowmobile fan.
